Our Team: Who's Behind Creatine.my

Who We Are

Creatine.my's content is written by our editorial team and scientifically reviewed by T. Dinaiz, BSc (Molecular Biology), MSc (Biotechnology) — a Malaysian reviewing for Malaysians. The aim is simple: pair a research-literate reading of the creatine science with practical, local knowledge of the Malaysian market — halal certification, NPRA registration, and what is actually on the shelf at Watsons, Guardian, and on Shopee and Lazada.

Every factual claim is grounded in peer-reviewed research and, where relevant, Malaysian regulatory sources such as NPRA and JAKIM. Where the evidence is strong we say so; where it is emerging or contested, we say that plainly rather than overstating certainty.

Our Areas of Expertise

  • Molecular biology
  • Biotechnology
  • Creatine research literature
  • Sports supplementation
  • Malaysian health context

Editorial Process

Articles on Creatine.my go through a research, writing, and review process that aims to keep content accurate, clear, and current.

1. Research Phase

All content begins with primary source research. Our writers consult peer-reviewed journals indexed on PubMed, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and position stands from recognised bodies such as the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

2. Writing Standards

We maintain strict writing standards: every factual claim must be supported by at least one peer-reviewed study. When consensus exists (such as the ISSN Position Stand on creatine), we cite the consensus document. When evidence is emerging or contested, we clearly state the level of certainty.

3. Scientific Review

Articles are checked against their cited sources for scientific accuracy — are the studies cited correctly, and are the conclusions justified? — and then for clarity, so that an everyday Malaysian reader can follow them without a science background.

4. Ongoing Updates

Science evolves. We revisit published articles when significant new research emerges, and every article shows its last-updated date.

Our Methodology

  1. Primary source research from PubMed and peer-reviewed journals
  2. Cross-referencing claims with systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  3. Checking key claims against their cited sources
  4. Revisiting content as new research emerges
  5. Reviewing Malaysian market price and availability where relevant

Research Foundation

Our content is built on a foundation of over 500 peer-reviewed studies spanning three decades of creatine research. We maintain a curated research library with detailed summaries of the most important studies, including landmark papers such as:

  • Harris et al. (1992) — the foundational study on creatine loading in humans
  • Kreider et al. (2017) — the ISSN Position Stand reviewing 500+ studies
  • Rawson & Venezia (2011) — the comprehensive review of creatine and cognition
  • Avgerinos et al. (2018) — the systematic review of creatine and brain function
  • Branch (2003) — the meta-analysis of creatine and body composition
